Perfecting our goal setting process is one of the most important things we can do. I think we all know achieving the goals we set is critical to building the lives we want. Starting October 2016, I will begin to release Monthly Goals Report which will allow me to be more transparent as I work towards building the life I want for myself and family. Hopefully, it could be inspirational for you to join me so we can grow together.
A lot of people struggle to achieve goals but I don’t think it’s because the goals are no good or too hard, I think it’s because the process of the goal setting isn’t good enough. “I want to lose some weight” most of the time doesn’t achieve the result you crave so much.
For a while now I have been practicing goal setting and I have never quite got to the point where the process is perfect for setting myself up to win….UNTIL NOW.
Being involved in an awesome mastermind group with some friends, we have all been discussing our goal setting methods and I believe the greatest process of goal setting to date has been found that will set you up to win every time! I want to share this process now as I have slightly adapted it to fit my life.
This goal setting process is fun, easy and powerful to set you up to achieving your goals. I have tailored it to fit my life and I suggest you should do the same. If you haven’t seen my ultimate life plan post, you could check that out too as it will explain the areas of my life I set my goals.
Here is how the process works giving my example below each stage:
I have areas of improvement in each of the following areas. Tony Robbins life mastery system is the best system to capturing each area of my life that I have come across. Here they are:
Once you have decided on your areas, you can use the “circle of life mastery” concept and score your areas from 1 to 10. 10 being the ultimate vision you have for yourself and then you can see what areas you want to improve in. Below is my latest circle of life mastery.
I can’t fit all my results here but check out the ultimate goal setting workshop and go crazy. Be a child again.
A = I know I can achieve this goal.
B = I think I can achieve this goal.
C = I really don’t think I can achieve this goal.
Progressive goals need to be worked on all year.
Fixed goals need to be one time scheduled in the year.
Quarter 1 – January, February, and March.
Quarter 2 – April, May, and June.
Quarter 3 – July, August, and September.
Quarter 4 – October, November and December.
That’s it. You’re done and set to start taking massive action! Start working on your progressive goals and schedule your one-time fixed goals in the required quarters. You won’t need to think about these until then.
As 2016 only has Quarter 4 left, I will only set goals for these 3 months before setting 2017 goals during the Christmas and festive holidays. Starting October 2016, I will be releasing monthly goals report on the progress I am making towards my yearly goals. The reason why I have decided to do this is to be 100% transparent with the journey I am taking with my family. It also helps me stay accountable to myself and allows me to more effective putting pressure on myself.
